But first, let me share my own little Christmas project with you!
After I had all the buttons where I wanted them,
I used hot glue to keep them in place.
Then I trimmed the sweater fabric from the back of the hoop,
added some twine for hanging
and put her on my dining room snowflake wall!
Now, here comes the really fun part!

It's simple to make this ornament and takes very little time.
I started by grabbing a wooden embroidery hoop.
Embroidery hoops are one of those things I rarely pass up at a yard sale or thrift store.
I have issues with embroidery hoop hoarding.
Oh yeah, and bundt pans.
But back to the project...
I started with just a few supplies:
embroidery hoop
buttons
sweater scrap
hot glue gun
(the yarn and metal embroidery hoop are for a different project I'll be sharing next time)
After putting the sweater scrap into the hoop,
I dug through my mom's stash of buttons.
It seems no matter how many projects I make with buttons,
the supply doesn't seem to dwindle.
It kinda makes me wonder if the tin my mom kept her buttons in is magical or something
and the buttons just keep replenishing themselves.
Ok. Not really.
But there must be a million buttons in that thing!
Anyway, I picked out grey, white and silver buttons for this project.
I have a snowflake area going on in my dining room
with silver bulbs and a white tree
so the colors I chose will coordinate well in that area.
As I chose buttons, I simply laid them out on the fabric,
starting in the middle with the largest button.
I used hot glue to keep them in place.
Then I trimmed the sweater fabric from the back of the hoop,
added some twine for hanging
and put her on my dining room snowflake wall!
