Cloche Enough

Thrift Store Glass Dome Cloche with Natural Wood Base | Denise on a Whim
I'll admit it.
I have a thing for cloches.
Up until now, it's always been an admire-from-afar kind of thing.
But, thanks to a lucky trip to the thrift store,
I now have my very own cloche!
I had gotten out of the habit of stopping regularly at our local thrift store.
I'm sure it has something to do with the cold temps outside
and wanting to get home to cuddle up under a blanket.
This cold weather is just no fun for a girl like myself!

But, lately, I've rediscovered my joy in a good thrift store bargain.
Like this glass lid I picked up a few weeks ago.

I'm not sure what it is.
Maybe a cheese dome?
But the cute little wooden handle on top had me sold!
I snatched that thing up as quickly as I could and brought it home
to make my very first cloche!

To say I made it is possibly going too far.
I grabbed a wonderful slice of wood I had at home,
balanced it on a painted pedestal I had used in an old project,
put some pretty bowls fillers I had bought
along with my Driftwood Christmas Tree under the glass.
And, voila! Instant cloche!

But it couldn't be lovelier in my living room!
Especially for a mere 50 cents!

It might not be a real, bonafide cloche,
but it's cloche enough!
