What I Love Most

I make pretty home decor, but the truth is, what I love most about my home isn't what's in it.
It's the love and laughter we share in it that matters.
I guess that's why I wanted to make this pretty burlap sign.
For this simple sign project, I used a frame I had purchased at a moving sale.
I got a whole box of great frames for only $10!
After washing it (the frames were all very, very dusty!), I got out my ASCP Old White and painted it, dry-brush style. I wasn't worried about giving it a good coat, just a light one.

As I usually do, I had a stencil that I applied to the burlap, after I had roughly sized it to the frame, and I used ASCP Graphite for the lettering. The trickiest part about using a stencil with burlap is to make sure it's stuck very well so the paint doesn't bleed through.
I really like the way this sign turned out and I guess I wasn't the only one!
This was one of the first things to go at our sale last weekend.

I love using burlap when making signs
It's quick, inexpensive and looks so great with painted lettering!
Don't you agree...?
