Simply Adorable Snowman Ornaments

It's easy to make darling snowmen ornaments from slices of 2x4 boards!
When you have as much scrap wood laying around as we do, you find all kinds of uses for it. Like these too-cute and very simple snowman ornaments!
From our scrap pieces of 2x4 boards, Eric cut about 1/4" slivers from the ends and added a small hole to each.

I added some white paint. A couple dabs of black for the eyes and an orange carrot nose.
Next I cut a piece of scrap fabric and tied it around the snowman. I usually use a dab of hot glue to get the scarf to sit the way I want. Sometimes I use baker's twine or jute twine or wire through the top hole for hanging. Very simple to make and so cute!

I also use jar lids to make snowmen. Again, I used white chalk paint and a fabric scrap for the scarf. I drilled a hole in the top and bottom lip of the smaller lid and a hole in only the top lip of the larger lid. Using twine and a couple of knots, I secured the 2 lids together then attached another piece of twine at the top for the hanger.

You can use the same process for tin can lids. The only difference on this is that I used wire to secure the two lids together. So easy but so adorable!

Here's a trio of snowmen, all hanging out on a junky style Christmas tree I made from a thrifted CD holder.

I hope you'll stop back on Friday to learn more about the funky/junky tree I made for our store display!
