Scalloped Edge Table

I just love the character that this little table has!
The scalloped edges and the small finials on the corners area bit  different than what you normally see on furniture.

We picked this up at an auction.
Eric had to basically take it apart and glue the whole thing back together again. Someone had tried to do that before us, but hadn't succeeded all that well because it was really wobbly...
As for my part, I painted it. A lot!
I started with some Old White and Aubusson Blue over that.
For the final coat, I used Coco.
You can see the Aubusson Blue peeking out on the finials...
I just love the way this little lady distressed!
The dark wood underneath looks gorgeous with the Coco paint.
I added some clear and dark aging wax before calling her complete.
She's a real beauty in person.
Something about the ASCP Coco makes me think of warm coffee with creamer.
It's such a relaxing color.

  17. Love what you did with this table! I believe it is made in the style of Eastlake Victorian and probably dates right around 1900. Thank you for linking up with my Inspired Sunday blog party!
