Cloche Enough

Thrift Store Glass Dome Cloche with Natural Wood Base | Denise on a Whim
I'll admit it.
I have a thing for cloches.
Up until now, it's always been an admire-from-afar kind of thing.
But, thanks to a lucky trip to the thrift store,
I now have my very own cloche!

Themed Log Slice Coasters

Coffee Themed Log Slice Coasters from Denise on a Whim
A short time ago, I made a request for some log slices from a friend
and she delivered, just in time for me to make these coasters
for a few of my other friends for Christmas!

Big Sky Country Sign

Big Sky Country Sign from Denise on a Whim
I've been a busy little elf this year making custom signs for Christmas gifts.
Although I like all of the signs I make,
I do have favorites, of course.
And this Montana sign is one of them!

Framed Pallet Wood Backdrop

Framed Pallet Wood Backdrop in Warm Neutral Colors from Denise on a Whim
Today's project is one of the simple yet loveliest pieces of home decor I've ever made.
At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Seriously though, I adore the coloring on this simple framed backdrop
more than I ever thought I would.

Home, Memories & Laughter Sign

Rustic Wooden Lettered Home Decor from Denise on a Whim; Home is Where Love Resides
With a job making commercial signs during the day,
and then turning around making painted wooden signs when I get home,
I'm sometimes surprised I don't make signs in my sleep too!
The sign I'm showing you today turns out to be one of my favorites of all time.

A Humorous Welcome Sign

A Humorous Rustic, Pallet Wood Welcome Sign from Denise on a Whim
Maybe it's just me and mine, but our house is
LOUD!
That's why I came up with this little welcome sign.
It's both a welcome and a warning!

Love and Family Pallet Wood Sign

Love and Family Pallet Wood Sign from Denise on a Whim
I haven't shared much with you all lately,
but I've constantly been making signs the past couple of months!
Custom signs for friends and customers,
along with signs to fill my booth, like this one I'm sharing today.

Grab Your Coat Hook Board

Rustic Hook Board from Denise on a Whim
I had every intention of writing a nice long post along with this new project
since I've been gone so long.
But, the truth is, I'm just a little too busy and tired to do just that.
So, instead, this will be a short post and I'll let the project do the talking.

3 Pretty Barnwood Signs

3 Pretty Barnwood Signs from Denise on a Whim
You may have already realized this, but I've been on a major sign kick lately.
All of my friends must be redecorating or something
because I've made 9 custom signs for my friends alone in the past few weeks!
But it's all good, because making signs is one of my favorite projects!

Passionate, Weird Life Salvaged Wood Sign

Passionate, Weird Life Salvaged Wood Sign from Denise on a Whim
If there is one word that my friends might use to describe me,
it would probably be weird.
But, you see, I'm totally okay with that.
I think they mean it as a compliment...

Fishing Reel Key Hook & Organizer Made from Barn Wood from Denise on a Whim
A few days before Valentine's Day
(because I work best under pressure!),
I decided to make a custom present for the guy I'm dating.
Here's the story.

Wooden Block Snowmen

Wooden Block Snowmen from Denise on a Whim
As I sit at the computer, the snow is blowing outside my window.
I, for one, am not ready for winter weather.
But what do you do?
Especially when you live in Michigan and have lake effect snow on an almost daily basis!

They've been talking about snow for over a week so it comes as no surprise.
And I guess you just have to embrace it and deal!

Well, I'm dealing by making snowmen!
Like the wooden block snowmen I'm sharing with you today.

Architectural Salvage Wall Hooks

Architectural Salvage Wall Hooks from Denise on a Whim
I've had this wonderful piece of salvaged wood
in my garage for a few years now.
I had a few in things in mind for it but they never seemed
to work out quite right when it came time to use this piece.
Guess it's just been waiting for me to find the right match for it.
And I found that match when I picked up an old brown finial.
Now it's a gorgeous backdrop for wall hooks!

Pretty Wall Hooks with a Display Ledge

Wall Hook Board with a Display Ledge from Denise on a Whim
I don't know about you, but I love hooks! There's never enough places to hang bags, backpacks, coats and hats in my house! Even with hooks readily available, the kids love to come home from school and just drop everything on the floor. Is it just me or do you have that problem, too? I'm thinking it's universal with kids everywhere!

Salvaged Wood Hook Board

Hook Board from Salvaged Drawer Front via http://deniseonawhim.blogspot.com
Salvaged wood is one of my favorite things. I found this piece some time ago. But, when I didn't have much energy to create projects these last few weeks, I figured the least I could do was pull out this beauty and make a hook board!

Sometimes you find the prettiest little things on the side of the road. This project was constructed with the donations from a few different households. People throw out some amazing things!

Autumn-Inspired Cupboard Door Shelf

I was lucky enough to snag some showroom cupboard doors at an auction last year. They were all different in design and color. I've used some as signs and hook boards and only have a few left. I decided to make this one into a shelf!

My Kitchen Crate Shelf

I picked up these chippy green vintage kitchen items a short time ago and I wanted to display them somewhere in my current kitchen. My very tiny current kitchen. I asked Eric to make me a shelf to fit on a different wall. But then I got impatient. And I got an idea!
