It's certainly not easy for me to get in the Christmas mood
at the beginning of November.
Especially when I'm dreading cold weather and snow.
But, as a crafter and blogger, I had to suck it up and get my Christmas on!
And what better way to do it than with a fun repurpose!
A friend of mine grabbed me this crate of junk at a sale this summer.
It was chock full of porcelain insulators
and a whole bunch of other pieces/parts.
I dumped everything on the porch a few weeks ago, only because I wanted to clean the crate out.
I honestly had no idea what I was going to do with all of the porcelain pieces.
But, since they sat there on my deck, I actually got to looking at them.
It suddenly occurred to me that these electric fence insulators would be absolutely
wonderful little snowmen!
They were so simple to make.
I took a sharpie and drew the eyes, mouths and buttons.
Then I used some orange chalk paint for the carrot noses.
I warmed up the hot glue gun and tied some string and fabric
around the middles for scarves.
The tops of the nails almost look like hats, too!
Finally, I tied some twine to the top of the rusty nail for hanging. And they turned out pretty adorable!
Let's keep in touch...
Your comments make me smile :) 'Til next time!
