It's easy to turn something old and unwanted into something beautiful again.
In this case, all it took was a little paint and a little stain
to transform a discarded wooden thrift store vase
into a lovely piece of decor for my living room.
This vase was originally a very light blond wood.
I started by painting it sparingly with white chalk paint.
Then I sanded off the edges.
And went over the entire thing with a dark stain.
I used a rag and made sure to hit the edges good and wipe off the excess.
I filled the vase with some DIY flowering twigs.
Using hot glue, I simply glued small white flowers and a few leaves onto the twigs.
The flowers were another thrift store find.

This simple piece of decor was just the right piece to add in front of my printer's tray shelf.
