Classic White Bedroom Furniture Makeover

I don't typically paint furniture white.

But I think this bedroom pair I recently made-over

has got me headed in a new direction!

Each time I'm looking at blogs or Pinterest and see white furniture makeovers,

I love the classic look of them.

But I always tend to gravitate towards more color. 

My friend Karlye recently asked me to paint a couple pieces she got from her mom.

She wanted to go classic white with a little natural distressing.

 Because she has 3 larger pieces in total,
I thought it would be a good time to try out the chalk paint available at Menards.
It was about $20 versus $34 for the paint I normally buy.

I liked it.

It has a nice consistency and covers well.

I'm not sure if I would get a color mixed or not

but, for white, it's an economical alternative.

For a few of the details, like this flower,
I used Weathered Wood from Debi's Design Diary DIY Paints.

 I am really loving the look of classic white after working on this!

Here is the matching nightstand.

 The dresser and nightstand both got distressing along the edges.

 And each also got new new pulls and knobs.
The pull and knob for the nightstand has a little bling-action going on.
But they all coordinate with each other.

 You may remember that I've done work for this particular friend in the past.
