Today I'm sharing a sweet little vintage Santa Claus that's been in my family since I was a child.
I'm not sure how long my mom had this little guy before I was born...
But I remember carrying him around like he was a doll-baby when I was a child.
I already showed you my own Little Christmas Corner that I put together in my kid-filled house. In the center of my vignette, I had a cute Charlie Brown tree.
What I haven't told you yet is how much our kitten LOVED that tree. Loved it so much, in fact, that he knocked it down at least 6 times, scattered the tiny bulbs all over the house (most of them rolled under the stove) and broke one. So, I had to say farewell to the Charlie Brown tree. It had seen better days. But, I enjoyed it while it lasted!
In it's place, I decided to give my mom's vintage Santa the spotlight!
For the backdrop, I added in this wonderful old window chalkboard...
Then I placed this great soda crate on my vintage suitcase. I pulled it out of the garage and cleaned it up on Sunday. It was totally filthy! If you follow us on facebook (hint-hint), then you already know that ;)
Most of the bottles were still with the crate. So I filled some of them up with water and added a few pine sprigs in each. I collected those when I was out trudging through the snow with my kids this last weekend. It's been snowing like crazy here lately!
I added this old Ball jar with the metal lid. The snow and bottle brush tree were already inside but I added a tiny bit of red and white baker's twine to give it a smidge of color.
I love the way it looks with the lights behind it!
I had a couple faux berry picks so I added those to the bottles on the ends.
Here's a photo with the lights on...
I just love my little Santa snuggled in this old crate!
You can see the cute Auto Awesome this photo got yesterday before I even had my post written. Google+ Auto Awesome is so fun! Oh... and you might as well follow me on G+ while you're visiting the photo too ;) That would also be awesome! The twinkle lights around my Santa let him really shine!
I'm so lucky to have this little remembrance of my childhood and my Mom at Christmas.
I hope you've enjoyed visiting him, too.
I love comments and new followers. I hope we can connect! My social media links are at the top of the sidebar.
'Til next time!
