A Rustic Christmas Star

broken window panes become a Christmas star
When you have to dismantle the damaged panes from a window to make a Christmas sign, why not use the dividers to make a rustic Christmas star while you're at it? That's what I did!

After I took apart a chippy old window in order to make a Dreamy Christmas Sign, I figured the pieces must be good for something. Looking at the pieces sitting on my floor, and already in the holiday mood,  a rustic Christmas star came to mind...

They were already the right sizes, so I simply tacked them together with nails and glue. Because I couldn't find my white glitter, I grabbed some embossing powder instead and mixed it with Mod Podge. Then I brushed it over the star for a little extra sparkle.

I absolutely love it when I find a use for pieces like these instead of tossing them! (Who am I kidding-I rarely toss anything! lol)

I love the rustic elegance this star adds to my vignette. I have it sitting on my sideboard right now. The sole Christmas-ish thing currently in my house besides works in progress! :)

Be sure to stop back by on Wednesday when I'll be showing off some darling little snowmen ornaments that are very simple to make! Head on over and like our facebook page here.
