Bird in a Nest Embroidery Hoop Ornament

Bird in a Nest Embroidery Hoop Ornament from Denise on a Whim
Last week I showed you a button snowflake I made with a wooden embroidery hoop.
Today I'm sharing another embroidery hoop project.
This time, a turquoise bird sits in a nest in front of some greenery
with a snowy-white frame.
Perfect for the bird-lover at Christmas time!

Framed Twig Tree

Framed Twig Tree from Denise on a Whim
This framed twig tree is rustic and was nearly free for me to make.
If you have an unused frame sitting around, no matter what size,
then you could easily make this for virtually no cost, too!

At Home for Christmas

This post brought to you by At Home. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Denise... On a Whim.

At Home for Christmas | a Sponsored Post from Denise on a Whim

I am the first to admit that I love, love, LOVE Christmas decorations!

When I heard about a store called At Home, and found out there was one in my area,

I jumped at the chance to check it out!

First I texted my friend, Michelle, to see if she'd want to go shopping with me.

Turns out, At Home is a store she totally loves so she said YES and we made a date!

Log Slice Reindeer

The Cutest DIY Reindeer Made from Log Slices via Denise on a Whim
I asked a friend of mine to cut some log slices for me a short time ago.
When I got a pile of them, these misshapen logs reminded me of reindeer.
The rings in the logs had naturally formed a nose so I saw it pretty easily.
I thought I'd try it out and I love them!

A Christmas Gallery Wall

Festive Red Chalkboard from Denise on a Whim
I always decorate the wall in my dining room for the holidays.
This year, I began with a large chalkboard I had made out of a mirror frame.
From that, my dining room wall became a Christmas Gallery Wall!

Wooden Angel

Angel Made from Repurposed Shelves and Scrap Wood from Denise on a Whim
A few weekends ago, I had a craft show in my hometown.
It was amazing and I nearly sold out.
It was a 3-day show, so on the morning of the 2nd day,
I was desperately looking through my stuff to figure out
what I could quickly make to restock my booth a bit.
I came up with this wooden angel.

Cake Pan Snowman Chalkboard

Repurposed Cake Pan Snowman with a Chalkboard from Denise on a Whim
We're in full-out winter now here in Michigan.
I am not excited.
But it certainly does make it a bit easier to get working on Christmas projects.
Today's project is a new snowman I made from cake pans.

Insulator Snowmen Ornaments

Electric Fence Insulators Repurposed into Snowmen Ornaments from Denise on a Whim
It's certainly not easy for me to get in the Christmas mood
at the beginning of November.
Especially when I'm dreading cold weather and snow.
But, as a crafter and blogger, I had to suck it up and get my Christmas on!
And what better way to do it than with a fun repurpose!

Christmas Countdown Dollar Store Project {and a Printable!}

Christmas Countdown Printable via http://deniseonawhim.blogspot.com

My kids are always asking me, "how many days until {insert event here}?" So when I saw a clever countdown sign, I knew I had to recreate it! This version uses a frame from the dollar store and a printed graphic behind the glass. Cheap and easy. My favorite kind of project (especially with the hustle and bustle of the holidays!).

Joy~Peace~Love

Painted Burlap Sign in a Red Rustic Frame via http://deniseonawhim.blogspot.com
I love it when I find great frames for cheap. It gives me the perfect excuse to make another burlap sign, like the Christmas version I'm sharing today.
