I always adore the gorgeous tiered stands I see all of the time and I finally made one myself. I hope you'll take a peek!
For the top tier, I used an old cake pan. I love the way the metal has aged.
The bottom is a beautiful silver platter.
The curves on it are lovely.
And the design is so very intricate.
Together they make a great pair...
I used one of the many wooden legs I have in my garage as the stand and a square piece of wood I had for the base (which I painted in Graphite). After I cut the leg into 3 pieces, I drilled 1/2" holes in each pan and in each wooden piece where they would join at the pans, then inserted a small dowel through the holes in the center of each pan then into each leg piece to attach and glue them together. I then also used E6000 to glue the platter and pan to the wooden pieces, just to secure them more.
I think these two pieces were meant to be together. How about you?Head on over and like our facebook page here.
