Cupboard Door Mailholder
I love the look of all the french-inspired projects I see on Pinterest and my blog travels. I have never actually made anything with a french flair. Figured I had better change that!

Harlequin Box
I picked this darling little box up at a barn sale. The lady actually repurposes things herself and has a booth at a store not far away from here. For the life of me, I can't figure out why she got rid of this little goodie because I am loving how it turned out!

What I Love Most
I make pretty home decor, but the truth is, what I love most about my home isn't what's in it.
It's the love and laughter we share in it that matters.
I guess that's why I wanted to make this pretty burlap sign.

Cherished Memories Corkboard
Next, I cut some cork to size from a plain-jane corkboard we had sitting around and inserted/glued it into the back of the frame.
I added some simple blue ric-rac, painted a piece of chipboard I had on-hand with Graphite and used my trusty awl to put a hole in it. I inserted the cherished memories metal tag (another scrapbooking embellishment) into the hole, glued some pretty matching flowers on the chipboard and added a few vintage buttons and she was finished.
I think she's awfully pretty now. Hope you do too!
I would love it if you'd connect with me via bloglovin', facebook, google+, pinterest, or hometalk!
Getting new followers and comments absolutely makes my day! :)

Love, Cherish and Adore Pedestal Signs
Today I'm sharing with you a quick little project made from frames and some old stool legs.
These little pedestal signs were created from 3 thrift store frames of roughly the same size. All I did to the frames was paint them with a little Graphite ASCP, distress them and add dark wax.

I also used Graphite on some leftover banner material from the shop where I work.
I then applied a vinyl stencil (I must have had weddings in mind when I made the stencil. lol) and painted the letters with both Coco and Old White.
After that, I got out the staple gun and attached the banner material to the back of the frames.
Pretty simple process.
I pulled some old stool legs out of my stash in the garage and painted those with Graphite as well.
I had purchased a few pieces from the Habitat Rehab store that we used for the base on these. And Eric cut a piece of wood for each so that they would be more chunky.
The stool legs already had threaded hardware on the bottom so, after painting and waxing them, I simply drilled holes through the base pieces, added some glue to each and the threads themselves, and screwed them all together.
Eric attached the frames to the pedestals with screws from the back, attaching one slightly lower than the other two.
I then added some sisal and a button over the frame that was sitting lower on the base, securing it all with glue.
I think they make a cute little set. :)
Everyone loves a good party!

Leaded Glass Window Shelf
My friend Karlye brought me this window when she came to pick up her vintage desk a short time ago. She had purchased the window in November and wanted to make a shelf out of it. I thought that sounded like an excellent plan! So we picked colors out and I went to work.
I had Eric cut the shelf and then he attached it for me. The window had previously been painted a few different colors. Purple was even under there somewhere! So I set to work with some Duck Egg. Then painted over that with Graphite. Distressed it. Waxed it with dark aging wax.
Added some dark grey pulls I had lying around to pretty it up a bit.
And it was done!
(Except for hanging it on MY wall and staging it a bit for pictures. I finally got that done last night. And then promptly took it down so I wouldn't tempted to pay her for the window and keep it!)
I love the Graphite with the leaded glass. I think it looks very classy.
Hope she loves it too!
Everyone loves a good party!

Message Center {from a repurposed crate lid}
Meet our new message center.
This little beauty was made from a crate lid that Eric's boss was going to throw away (crazy people!). Thank goodness both his boss and mine are getting used to us collecting their trash. They've actually started asking us if we want stuff before trying to throw it away now! :)
Here is the message center before we did anything to it.
Just a plain, old crate lid. But loaded with potential!
I knew right away that is was completely perfect to make into a multi-purpose center for organizing notes and memos.
The first thing I did was paint the chalkboard area. Then I painted the frame in Coco ASCP™ and gave it a dry-brush coat of old white, just to add a little more texture. I put on a coat of both clear and dark aging wax, then added cork to the bottom inset.
I also knew I wanted some pegs or hooks on the bottom.
(In my house, there's always a need to hang up more stuff!)
Awhile back my boss had given me a coffee can full of miscellaneous hardware. Actually, he gave me 3 coffee cans full. I pulled these black knobs, if that's what you call them, out of the coffee can o'junk, made some measurements, drilled some holes and attached these to the bottom of the crate lid.
The message center was certainly coming together nicely. But it felt like it was missing something. So, I got out another coffee can. This one was full of plastic-covered magnetic cabinet door latches. It's also the very same can my boss said "you don't want this junk" about. Well, thank goodness I DID want that junk! Because those cabinet magnets certainly came in handy!
I took the metal pieces out of the plastic casings then used gorilla glue and clamps to attach them onto the top of the board. After they were dry, I pounded some great dark carpet tacks into the existing holes in the magnets.
I love the way this magnetic strip turned out!
The colors of the metals are great with the coco chalk paint.
Next, I cut some burlap and attached it to the inside of a few bottle caps, that had already been spray painted ivory, and glued magnet buttons to the backs.
I think these are the perfect little accessory for this piece! :)
I had purchased some pulls for this project because I really wanted to add these to the piece. Normally, we don't purchase anything. I suppose that every now and again it's ok. :)
The pulls came with screws that were too short. No problem. I went to the hardware store and bought longer screws. I even measured the depth of the wood before going so I would get the correct length. So much for my measuring skills! lol. The screws I purchased were still too short!
Man, was I bummed. I really wanted to finish this project and get some photos of it over the weekend, not have to make another trip to the store for more screws.
I got so fed up and irritated with myself about the lame-brain screw fiasco that I got the drill out, used my largest bit and, goll-darn it, if I didn't counter-sink those screws in the back of the board and get those pulls on after all! And all by my sweet little self, I might add!
Hooray for me!
I just might be getting the hang of this handy {wo}man stuff after all!
(But I'm still gonna leave the cutting and sawing to Eric.
I want to keep all of my fingers attached to my hand, after all!)
Hope you like the new message center!

Live Simply... A Simple Craft Project
I purchased this little shutter at a local barn sale. It was previously painted black and I just wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. But, I figured I would think of something. And why pass up a cute shutter if you have the chance to buy one for cheap? :)
One day I finally decided to give it a coat of Annie Sloan™ Old White paint. It sure brightened it up from the old black that was on there. And, suddenly, I got inspired!
I had made previously some burlap flowers with vintage buttons from a tutorial I'd seen on Pinterest. I pulled those out and attached them to the shutter.
I loved the simplicity of this little project. So I decided to add some simple text too. :)
I used my scrapbook stencils to pencil them on and then painted over the pencil with Graphite.
Hope you like it :)
